Mighty Crow Shares Second Career Pathways Research Brief

Following the release of a first research brief in January, Mighty Crow’s Co-Directors of Research and Evaluation, Dr. Brieanne Beaujolais and Dr. Rebecca McCloskey,  have shared a second brief based based on research from the Health Profession Opportunity Grant (HPOG) 2.0 program and is entitled ‘Strengthening Workforce Development Training Programs: Childcare Barriers and Recommendations.’

The brief highlights that parent participants in the Health Professions Opportunity Grant (HPOG) 2.0 program achieved significantly better educational outcomes, including an 18 percentage point increase in credential attainment, when sites provided direct childcare services compared to those relying on referrals. Despite the critical importance of these supports, participants frequently faced barriers such as limited service hours, transportation challenges, and administrative delays, all of which often led to training interruptions or program withdrawal. Ultimately, the study underscores that integrating direct, accessible childcare models is essential for improving the success of parents enrolled in workforce development training.

A full manuscript of the research findings will be published later this year.
